Summary

A cross site request forgery vulnerability was discovered and fixed in IBM Rational ClearQuest. An attacker may trigger a premature logout of a user, causing any work in progress to be lost.

DESCRIPTION:
IBM Rational ClearQuest is vulnerable to cross-site request forgery, caused by improper validation of user-supplied input by the DoLogout action. By persuading an authenticated user to click on a link, a remote attacker could cause the user to be logged off without confirmation. This could result in loss of any unsaved data or work in progress. An attacker could exploit this vulnerability to perform cross-site scripting attacks, and other malicious activities.

This fix adds CSRF protection to the DoLogout command. Now users can't be tricked into logging out and losing work.
