AAA-SYS-0002 and AAA-CFG-0008 error in Cognos BI when started.

Troubleshooting


Problem

Error starting the Cognos Business Intelligence Portal. Fixpack4 applied to a Cognos BI 10.1.1 installation, user receives browser error AAA-CGF-0008 at login. The handler class 'com.ibm.cognos.camaaa.internal.auth. handler.SelectDefaultNamespace' cannot be loaded.java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: com.ibm.cognos.camaaa.internal.auth.handler.SelectDefaultNamespace

Symptom

Trying to start the Cognos BI portal generates error AAA-CFG-0008. The cogserver.log shows the following errors on startup:
AAA-SYS-0002 The service cannot process the request because it has not been initialized.
AAA-CFG-0008 The handler class 'com.ibm.cognos.camaaa.internal.auth.handler.SelectDefaultNamespace' cannot be loaded.

Cause

Conflict of CAM libraries

WebSphere 8.5
Linux 5
Cognos 10.1.1 fp4

Diagnosing The Problem

After applying the patch, error indicates that there is a conflict in the CAM libraries. Check the process of patching and found out that after the BI installation is patched, there was no redeployment of the patch BI files into the WebSphere Application Server

Resolving The Problem

Build a new set of EAR files out of the patched BI server and redeploy into the p2pd instance of WebSphere.
