How to change the date format in Sterling File Gateway, versions 2.2.4 and earlier

Troubleshooting


Problem

The default date format in the Sterling File Gateway user interface is in US Date format.

Cause

It is possible to change the date formats in the ui.properties file. However, making the change in this file does not affect the Sterling File Gateway screens; it only affects Sterling B2B Integrator.

Resolving The Problem

To adjust the date format in Sterling File Gateway:

  1. Stop the Sterling File Gateway Application.
  2. Edit these two files:
    /container/Applications/myfilegateway/WEB-INF/classes/Isomorphic_en.properties
    /container/Applications/filegateway/WEB-INF/classes/Isomorphic_en.properties

    Change the parameter: Date_Format=MDY to DMY (or another required format)
  3. Edit these two files:
    /container/Applications/myfilegateway/WEB-INF/classes/filegateway_en.properties
    /container/Applications/filegateway/WEB-INF/classes/filegateway_en.properties

    Change the parameter as follows:
    DATE_HINT=dd/mm/yyyy (or another required format)
  4. Go to the bin directory and run the deployer.cmd or deployer.sh script to recreate the Web Applications
  5. To avoid any unexpected results, clear the Browser Cache.
  6. Restart the Application and login to the File Gateway or My File Gateway Web Applications.

    NOTE: You must repeat these steps each time you run the installService.cmd / installService.sh script, for example if you install a custom service or a standard Build or iFix.
