Using the Fetch Stop Exclusion Setting

Question & Answer

Question

Can I retrieve more than 5000 records at a time?

Cause

By default Maximo will not retrieve more than 5000 records in a record set. The fetch stop limit default to 5000 and this is what is limiting the record set.

Answer

Some users may wish to increase the fetch stop limit, but since this is a global setting and will affect all applications, it is not always a setting that can be easily changed. One property setting that can be used to work around the 5000 limit against an object with out affecting the other objects is the mxe.db.fetchStopExclusion. In the global value field add the object you would like to apply the exclusion to, if adding more than one value separate them by using a comma. Once the values have been set, place a check mark in the box next to the value and do a live refresh. After completion of the refresh, you should now see the values in the current value field. Save the changes. Now when you try to select more than 5000 items for the listed objects you will no longer receive a warning message.
