Troubleshooting
Problem
DB2 Installation on Windows 2008 or higher, completes successfully but installation log shows error message during 'Configuring DB2 Instances' step and results in corrupted install.
Symptom
Installation log shows:
Action 17:35:51: DB2CustomAction. Configuring DB2 instances
1: ERROR:One or more errors occurred while committing the changes to the user "DB2". Create or make any changes to this user manually.
1: ERROR:The creation of the process for the partitioned instance failed. Return value is "4294965375".
Resolving The Problem
Launch the install with the "Run as Administrator" option.
- If the install is launched from a command window, for example with the "setup.exe" command, then the command window should be opened with the "Run as Administrator" option. You can do that by right clicking the shortcut when you open the command window.
- If the install is launched by clicking on the "setup.exe" executable, you should right click setup.exe and choose the option "Run as Administrator".
