Troubleshooting


Problem

All reports fail against the VVM data source. Test data source in BI Portal generate QE-DEF-0285 The logon failed. QE-DEF-0325 The logon failed for the following reason: RQP-DEF-0068 Unable to connect to at least one database during a multi-database attach to 1 database(s) in: GoCredit_Exposure UDA-SQL-0031 Unable to access the "GoCredit_Exposure" database. Check that the connection parameters to the database are configured correctly. For example, ensure that the data source connection contains the signon information, such as a password, to connect to the database. Symptom

All reports failed to run and test data source of the offending VVM ODBC generate an error.

Cause

Some locales environment variable was set to en_US.ISO-8859-15

Environment

Solaris

Diagnosing The Problem

Test using driverconfig utility as located in the VVM bin directory.

Resolving The Problem

Change the following LC variables from en_US.ISO-8859-15 to en_US.ISO-8859-1:
LC_COLLATE=en_US.ISO8859-1
LC_CTYPE=en_US.ISO8859-1
LC_MONETARY=en_US.ISO8859-1
LC_NUMERIC=en_US.ISO8859-1
LC_TIME=en_US.ISO8859-1
