TSAMP Install Wizard GUI on Windows fails to authenticate user's password

Question & Answer

Question

Using a local account (member of Administrators group) to install Tivoli System Automation for Multiplatforms (TSAMP) on Windows 2008 R2 Server results in the install GUI failing to authenticate.

Answer

If the Windows servers are "Windows-domain-joined", then a Windows "domain" user account must be used. Attempting to use a local administrator account, including the built-in "Administrator" account will cause the failed authentication.

Note, a Windows-domain-joined environment on Windows 2008 R2 Server is only supported for TSAMP v3.2.2.3 or above.
