Steps to setup Mozilla Firefox browser for testing Flex application

1. Go to Start > Control Panel > Java Control Panel and Enable Next Generation Plugin (NGP) in Advanced Tab of Java Control Panel.

2. Launch RFT with 'Run as Administrator' privilege and enable Java Environment and Firefox web browser for testing.

3. Test RFT browser enablement and make sure that the enablement tests are passed for Java Environment and Firefox browser.

4. Close RFT and Firefox browser.

5. Go to Java Control Panel again and disable NGP.

6. Copy user.js and prefs.js files available in the Flexfolder of RFT installation directory
(By default, the location is C:\Program Files\IBM\SDP\FunctionalTester\Flex) to %APPDATA%\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\zpy0wokq.default folder (Ideally the location is C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\zpy0wokq.default) directory.


NOTE: The name "zpy0wokq.default" may vary on different computers.


7. Launch Firefox browser and in Firefox:

i. Click Tools > Options > Advanced > Update.
ii. Select the radio button Never Check for Updates for Firefox updates
iii. Click Tools > Options > Content.
iv. Clear the Block pop-up windows check box.
v. Click Tools > Options > Security.
vi. Clear the Warn me when sites try to install add-ons check box.


8. Open Global Security Settings panel of Adobe Flash Player in FF browser and Click the Always Allow radio option.

9. Close all Firefox instances and Launch the flex application. Also launch RFT and start recording.
