Code Coverage not supported with Update Production files in RDi V9.1.0

Troubleshooting


Problem

In IBM Rational Developer for i (RDi) version 9.1, code coverage cannot be performed for production libraries.

Symptom

When a code coverage configuration is launched, the code coverage report does not show any information and the following errors are issued:

CPF4203 Member ABC00 cannot be opened while UPDPROD(*NO).

RNX1216 Error message CPF4203 appeared during OPEN for file ABC00.

Cause

Code coverage is not supported for production libraries in RDi version 9.1.0 even when Update production files is enabled in RDi from Window > Preferences > Run/Debug > IBM i Debug.

Resolving The Problem

This is an enhancement that would be provided in future release of Rational Developer for i (RDi).

As a work around, you can change the library type from *PROD to *TEST using command CHGLIB and launch the code coverage after this change.
