Troubleshooting
Problem
ITCAM agent for Microsoft Cluster Server does not display data in Resources workspace.
Symptom
Tivoli Enterprise Portal (TEP) workspace Resources shows as follows:
Resolving The Problem
A. Run wbemtest tool to check is the resources data can be obtained from the WMI repository.
1. Open command prompt & type command wbemtest and enter.
2. Click on connect.
3. Type Namespace as root\MSCluster and click connect as below.
4. After selecting Namespace on window click on Enum Classes.
5. On next pop-up window select Recursive and click Ok.
6. On next pop-up window select object as MSCluster_Resource and double click.
7. On next pop-up window click on Instances.
8. Next pop-up window will show available resources on cluster.
For example check below.
9. Cross verify these resources and resource group on Failover cluster
10. Check same data will visible on portal.
B. While running wbemtest tool, you may encounter following issues:
1) If resources data does not show up, the issue could be a corrupted WMI repository. MS Cluster monitoring agent consumes WMI data for some of the attribute groups. If WMI repository is corrupted then this data is not available to the agent and on TEP.
You can check by rebuilding WMI repository, or communicate with Microsoft support regarding this issue.
2) If you get invalid namespace error while connecting through wbemtest using root\MSCluster namespace, then you may need to compile the MOF using command:
mofcomp .\ClusWMI.mof
3) If above solution does not work open a PMR with IBM Support and send screen shots for steps 8,9 & 10 above.
