Summary
A security vulnerability in ChangeCipherSpec processing allows intermediate nodes to intercept encrypted data and decrypt them and can force the use of weak keying material in SSL/TLS clients and servers.

DESCRIPTION:
An attacker using a carefully crafted handshake can force the use of weak keying material in SSL/TLS clients and servers. This can be exploited by a Man-in-the-middle (MITM) attack where the attacker can decrypt and modify traffic from the attacked client and server. The attack can only be performed between a vulnerable client and a vulnerable server.

Affected Products and Versions
WebSphere DataPower SOA Appliances all versions through 4.0.2.15, 5.0.0.14, 6.0.0.6, and 6.0.1.2. Note that version 7.0.0.0 is not affected.
Remediation/Fixes
Fix is available in versions 5.0.0.15, 6.0.0.7, and 6.0.1.3. Refer to APAR IT02314 for URLs to download the fix. Customers on DataPower firmware version 4.0.2 and later fix packs, contact customer support.
