It has been recently announced by Google that new releases of their browsers will automatically block NPAPI-based plug-ins (Netscape Plugin-in Application Programming Interface). By end of 2014, NPAPI support will be completely removed from the Chrome as posted in the "NPAPI deprecation: developer guide" article on the Chromium Projects website: http://www.chromium.org/developers/npapi-deprecation
A user will be unable to join an audio/video conference in Sametime Meetings and will also be unable to use the Screen Capture feature from Sametime WebChat. In the Chrome browser, each time the page with Sametime Meetings is loaded, the user will be prompted to install the plug-in and will not be allowed to join audio/video meetings.
Resolving the problem
You can work around this limitation by applying one of the solutions described in the following PDF or ODT attachments:
IBM Sametime WebPlayer Plugin Install on Chrome.odt
Attention: It is important to note that when Google completely removes support for NPAPI plug-ins, it will not be possible to enable the Sametime WebPlayer plug-in for Chrome.
