Single User is unable to export to Excel from the Contributor web client

Troubleshooting


Problem

The affected user that is unable to export to Excel, does not have issues with the contributor web client. The Contributor Excel Add-in is installed on the affected user's machine. Excel exports work fine for all other users. Same version of Excel 2007 on all user's machines.

Diagnosing The Problem

This affects Quick export, export to Excel, and clicking on the Excel icon next to the node name (nothing happens)

Errors on screen and in Planningerrorlog.csv file include:

Resolving The Problem

Other installed Excel Add-ins on the machine were causing the issue.

Normally, the installation process would make the Contributor Excel add-in active. However, the Contributor Excel add-in was not present in the list of active Add-in's in Excel on the user's machine. (Excel File, Options, Add-Ins). There were a couple of other Add-ins present on the machine – one for Essbase & another for ‘Transfer data to IBM i’. Disabling both of these made the export to excel successful.
