Problem
When using the WebGUI file management to download large files, an error file is downloaded instead with the error message "Unable to download."
Symptom
File downloads fail with the WebGUI file management. Successfully export configuration file but fail to download it.
The error file name and the message are different depending on the firmware version.
4.0.2
- The downloaded file name is the name that was specified for the download, for example, export.zip.
The downloaded file contains the following error message:
- Unable to download file. Use the copy command.
5.0.0
- The downloaded file name is ErrorOccurred.txt.
The downloaded file contains the following error message:
- Unable to download file: image:/image.s.
Use the copy command from the command line interface.
6.0.0 and 6.0.1
- The downloaded file name is ErrorOccurred.txt.
The downloaded file contains the following error message:
- Unable to download file: image:/image.s.Use the copy command from the command line interface.
7.0.0
- The downloaded file name is ErrorOccurred.txt.
The downloaded file contains the following error message:
Unable to download file: export:/export.zip. Use the copy command from the command line interface.
Cause
The DataPower WebGUI has internal limits on the size of files that can be downloaded. When the file size exceeds the limit, the error message is triggered.
Environment
All DataPower WebGUI file management.
Diagnosing The Problem
Enable the WebGUI logging event category to get more detailed information. When the error occurs, the system log contains error log messages such as the following messages:
tid(#): document size limit of 102400000 bytes exceeded, aborting
tid(#): Unable to download 'export:/export.zip'. Use the copy command.
Resolving The Problem
Use the DataPower command line interface to download large files with the copy command.
