Unable to login: CM-REQ-4158 The search path storeID() is invalid

Troubleshooting

Problem

You have multiple namespaces configured similarly as follows: -The default Cognos namespace with "Allow anonymous access" set to true -Two Active Directory namespaces with singleSignOnOption configured using IndentityMapping When accessing the Cognos URI, users are being automatically signed in anonymously to the Cognos namespace instead of to the Active Directory namespace. Further, the Everyone group had been removed from the System Administrators role, which have otherwise granted the ability to read and traverse the Cognos namespace.

Symptom

When users access the Cognos URL, they receive the following error message:

CM-REQ-4158 The search path storeID() is invalid

Cause

The error message is caused when a user does not have read and traverse permissions in a namespace. In this case, anonymous login was enabled, and by default, a user accessing Cognos would be logged in anonymously. The anonymous login would not have privileges read and traverse permissions on the Cognos namespace, and hence the error message

Resolving The Problem

Set "Allow anonymous access" to false, and restarted Cognos.
