Troubleshooting


Problem

Collecting data for problems with the IBM® WebSphere® Intelligent Management Runtime Topology Reports, Performance and Operations component. Gathering this MustGather information before calling IBM support will help you understand the problem and save time analyzing the data.

Resolving The Problem

1. Trace for Visualization operations issues:

a.) Enable the following trace on the Deployment Manager process:

*=info:com.ibm.ws.console.xd.operations.detail.operations.*=all:com.ibm.ws.console.xd.operations.detail.summary.*=all:com.ibm.ws.console.xd.operationsdetail.util.*=all:com.ibm.ws.xd.operations.*=all

b). Enable following trace on the ODR process

*=info:com.ibm.ws.xd.*=all

c). Enable following trace on the Node Agent process

*=info:com.ibm.ws.xd.pmi.*=all


2. Trace for Visualization reports issues:

a). Enable following trace on the Deployment Manager:

*=info:com.ibm.ws.console.xd.operations.chart.*=all:com.ibm.ws.console.xd.operations.prefs.*=all:com.ibm.ws.console.xd.operations.util.*=all

b). Enable following trace on the ODR process

*=info:com.ibm.ws.xd.*=all

c). Enable following trace on the Node Agent process

*=info:com.ibm.ws.xd.pmi.*=all

3. Trace for Visualization report performance issues:

a). Enable following trace on the Deployment Manager process

*=info:com.ibm.ws.console.xd.operations.helper.*=all:com.ibm.ws.xd.visualizationengine.cacheservice.*=all

b). Enable following trace on the ODR process

*=info:com.ibm.ws.xd.*=all

c). Enable following trace on the Node Agent process

*=info:com.ibm.ws.xd.pmi.*=all
  • Once enable above tracing, re-create the problem with the visualization.
    • Take a screen capture of the browser with the issue.
    • Save the SVG output of the graph or image.
          • Right-click on picture or graph.
          • Select Save SVG As... from menu.
          • Click Save.
    • Run the collector tool on each installation. When you run the collector tool, it creates a JAR file with the information about that profile that it was run against, please send us the JAR file that the collector tool created. If there is a message about the collector tool being deprecated you can ignore it, do not run ISADC tool, the collector tool should continue after a pause in the script.
    • Collect the following information:
          • All the collector tool output files (.jar)
          • Screen shot of the browser
          • Saved SVG file

What to do next
Once you have collected the preceding information, you can send diagnostic information to IBM support or simply submit the diagnostic information to IBM support.
