Cause
In this particular instance, the .jar files which are responsible for importing the chart objects were not up-to-date / do not match.
The files are cgsJava.jar, openviz2.jar, particles-cognos.jar.
These files can be found within ../bin, ../bin64 and the cgsJava.jar can also be found in the ../webapps/p2pd/WEB-INF/lib/ directory.
Resolving The Problem
Steps:
1) Go into the directory stated above, open up the cgsJava.jar files
using an archiver (E.g. 7zip) and go into META-INF
2) Extract the file MANIFEST.MF into a different location and open it
up in a text editor (E.g. Notepad)
3) Check that within each of these files that there is a version number
and that it matches with its other file.
E.g. Ensure that the ../bin/cgsJava.jar, ../bin64/cgsJava.jar and the
../webapps/p2pd/WEB-INF/lib/cgsJava.jar "specification-version" match
each other
4) If they do not match, please replace the file with the most up to
date version.
This can be done by looking at the version number and seeing which one
of the two are of a higher build version.
5) Do steps 1-4 for the files openviz2.jar and particles-cognos.jar
Both these files can be located in the ../bin and the ../bin64 folder.
6) Once all files are of the same version, restart Cognos Services and
test the issue again.
