To more quickly and accurately address your issues, we are making an important change to our IBM Software Appliance Service Request process. This document explains how to find Serial Numbers for your IBM InfoSphere Guardium Appliances.

Please note: The following information is for serial numbers for IBM xSeries provided as part of the InfoSphere Guardium offering.
Why do I need to know my Serial Number?
Previously, you provided only your IBM Customer Number (ICN) to open Service Requests. To enable IBM Support Engineers to more quickly address your issue, you will now also need to provide your Serial Number when opening Service Requests.

How to find Machine Type and Serial Number on IBM Guardium Appliances
The Appliance Machine Type and Serial Number can be found on the Front Right Non-Removable Top Cover and on the Front Left Mounting Flange.
Note the example below shows the letter X denoting an alphanumeric character in the specific serial number on the flange
How to find your Machine Type and Serial Number:
Serial Numbers for Guardium Appliances are seven characters long, starting with 780 and followed by 4 numeric digits..
Refer to the table below for guidance on identifying Machine Type and Serial Number for your Appliance. If you are unable to find your Machine Type or Serial Number for your Guardium Appliance, refer to the photos above.
