IBM Support

Can I use the same upgrade program to upgrade another database?

Troubleshooting

Problem

We installed a Maximo fix pack and upgraded our database. Can we restore the database and use the upgrade programs again to upgrade the database? Can we use the upgrade programs to upgrade a different database?

Environment

Windows, Maximo 7.1, Maximo 7.5

Resolving The Problem

Yes, you can re-use the upgrade programs to upgrade the same or another database. The database must be the same Maximo version and fix pack level as the database that you upgraded previously. In your upgrade environment, modify file maximo.properties so that it references the database to be upgraded - correct URL, userid, and password. Launch the upgrade by running:

<installdir>\maximo\tools\maximo\updatedb.bat -v1
