Question & Answer
Question
Can you sign a digital certificate using WebSphere DataPower as a certificate authority (CA)?
Answer
DataPower is not a certificate authority (CA). A CA is a trusted third party that is trusted by both the subject (owner) of the certificate and the party relying upon the certificate.
DataPower can generate a self-signed certificate, Certificate Signing Request (CSR), and private key but not as a signer certificate. Once generated, you will have to send it to Certificate Authority to sign the CSR.
