Question
How to target incremental backup for single filesystem to enable the journal? The backup of: "dsmc Inc -subdir=yes /xyz/" did not create the expected Journal DB and enabled the next backup to be a Journal Backup.
Cause
The syntax is incorrect.
Answer
To enable journal backup after a targeted incremental for one filespace, do the following client backup.
Example:
dsmc Inc -subdir=yes /xyz
You will then see the message stating the journal will be activated after this backup is completed:
ANS1761I Journal for '/xyz' will be enabled upon successful completion of the backup.
