Cognos TM1 10.2 Multi-threaded Query calculation fix
A calculation issue when using multi-threaded query has been identified that may manifest when used with cubes with complex rules.
This issue has been identified in the following versions of TM1 software:
- Cognos TM1 10.2
- Cognos TM1 10.2 FP1
The following issue occurs in the Cognos TM1 10.2 server when using Multi-Threaded Query:
- Customers who are applying MTQ to models with reasonably complex rules (i.e. to rules that have cross-cube references with recursiveness depth more than 2) could intermittently suffer from incorrect calculations unless they have disabled MTQ application to the single cell consolidation:
Workaround: Set MTQ = 0 or 1 or leave this parameter out of the tm1s.cfg altogether. This will turn off the multi-threaded query functionality entirely.
Alternatively you can leave MTQ = x (x being some number greater than 1) and add the following parameter to your tm1s.cfg file:
which will prevent MTQ from being applied in these scenarios where there is the potential for an incorrect result.
APAR PI08600 has been logged for this issue.
An interim fix which corrects this issue is available for download from Fix Central. All fixes will require Cognos TM1 10.2 FP1 to be installed first.
Customers using either Cognos TM1 10.2 or Cognos TM1 10.2 FP1 are strongly recommended to upgrade to FP1 if they haven’t already and apply the interim fix.
