Does the BIRT report engine component have an option to send keep alive messages to WebSphere to keep the connection open so that it doesn't breach the ServerIOTimeout parameter?
Answer
The answer is No, currently there is no feature to send Keep alive messages from BIRT to WebSphere.
Neither is there a particular setting from a reports viewpoint that can be set.
In a future Maximo release there will be implemented some features to prevent very large reports from impacting overall system performance.
E.g: a report stop limit -- similar to the Maximo fetch stop limit.
