Problem
When using session type of 3270 in Host Connection Emulator (HCE) in IBM Developer for z/OS, an abnormal display occurs for 27x132 screen size.
Symptom
Fields are misaligned on the emulator screen
Cause
In some cases, the 3270 session type is not compatible with screen size 27x132 screen for Model 5 terminals (the old 3278 display terminals).
The result of the display depends on how the 3270 terminal type is defined on the customer z/OS system.

Resolving The Problem
In the Host Connect Emulator Properties page, change the session type to 3270E (from 3270).
Note: The 27x132 screen size is for the Model 5 terminals (the old 3278 display terminals).
