Server won't come online after SSL setup

Technote (troubleshooting)

Problem(Abstract)

IDS fails to come online after configuring SSL connection

Symptom

After properly configuring SSL connections and attempting to bring the server online using 'oninit -v' command, you see the following in the verbose output:

...
Initializing ASF...FAILED

Cause

The cause is that you are using a non-default Global Security Kit.

Resolving the problem

If SSL configuration has been completed correctly and the server fails to come online, a non-default Global Security Kit has been used.

Recall the commands used when setting up the keystore and its password stash file; for example:

If you used 'gsk8capicmd' then you have version 8 configured; for 'gsk7capicmd' - version 7.

You must add the parameter GSKIT_VERSION to your ONCONFIG file when using a non-default GSKit and give it the value for the appropriate version number; for example:

'GSKIT_VERSION 7'

If everything else has been configured correctly, you will now be able to bring the server online.
