Unable to launch TM1 Cognos Configuration

Problem(Abstract)

An admin user tries to launch TM1 Cognos Configuration and it pops up as though it may launch and then it disappears. No error message is presented to the user when it disappears.

When it is first launched, the typical message about the possible lock file may be presented, but regardless of whether the user chooses to continue or to stop and go delete the .lock file, on relaunch of Cognos Configuration, it will still pop up and disappear.

Resolving the problem

Make sure that when the product was installed, that it was installed by an administrator on the machine and that the admin also right-clicked on the ISSETUP.exe file and chose to Run as Administrator.

If that does not resolve it, then this could be due to not having enough disk space on the drive where TM1 is installed, or some problem with that drive. Try reinstalling on a different drive with more disk space.
