Finding additional licenses purchased for new DataPower® Appliances from Passport Advantage®

IBM DataPower® Appliances and Add-On Software Options

IBM offers add-on software feature options to enhance the core function of its DataPower® Appliances. When these feature options are included in the purchase of the appliance from Passport Advantage (PPA) they are not pre-loaded on the appliance by IBM prior to shipping. These add-on software feature options must be installed by the customer.

Software feature option installation materials were provided to the customer's Passport Advantage® Administrator when the order was completed. As part of the initial set-up of this appliance, contact your companies Passport Advantage® Administrator to determine if software feature options were ordered for this appliance and to obtain the installation materials. The installation materials include instructions to download the feature activator from the Passport Advantage® site as well as the installation instructions.

There is also a flyer included in the carton with the new appliance with instructions for the installation.

Be prepared to provide: Machine Type: 8496, Serial number of the appliance (78xxxxx), contact information (name, phone, email), customer number and note you need help with identifying your Passport Advantage® Administrator.

Notes:

• Each additional license feature will require a separate activator tool.
• There is not an automatic reboot after running the activator tool to allow for multiple licenses to be activated one after another then when done running the tools manually reboot the appliance to have the licenses displayed correctly.
• The appliances purchased from PPA are a Machine Types 8441 or 8496. This is listed on the label on the front of the appliance however the internal outputs will list the Machine Type for the sub models such as 844152X, 844153X, 849652X or 849653X.
