Troubleshooting
Problem
Attempts to generate a PDF or a Microsoft Word document from requirements results in the error "ID CRRRW7553E A message that was received from the server indicates an error with no specific handler." when using IBM Rational Requirements Composer.
Symptom
- rm.log contains:
ERROR .hp.hpl.jena.rdf.model.impl.RDFDefaultErrorHandler -
ERROR ibm.rdm.fronting.server.rrs.publish.PublishService - java.lang.NullPointerException
at com.ibm.rdm.fronting.server.rrs.publish.internal.rpe.RPEReportRequest.resolveWordTemplateLocale
- Mozilla Firefox Language options contains [chrome://global/locale/intl.properties]
Cause
Possible causes include the following:
- The request to generate the reports has the locale properties (chrome://global/locale/intl.properties) specified in its accept language header.
- The Publishing engine was not initialized properly after the upgrade, getting error 500: Internal Server Error. For this cause you may not see the above listed symptoms.

Resolving The Problem
For Cause 1
In Mozilla Firefox:
- Click on Tools > Options > Content
- In the Languages section, click on Choose...
- Select [chrome://global/locale/intl.properties] and click on Remove
- Click Ok (twice)
For Cause 2
The problem will go away by re-initializing the Publishing engine.
To reinitialize the publishing engine, go to this URL on your RRC server:
https://server:port/<context_root>/publish/initialize
