Problem(Abstract)

An error is thrown and creation of IBM Rational Functional Tester project assets through Microsoft Visual Studio integration fails if the Windows user name has double byte characters.

Symptom

If the Microsoft Windows user name has double byte characters, environment variables such as HOMEPATH, USERPROFILE and APPDATA that are used by Rational Functional Tester also include the double byte characters; however, Rational Functional Tester does not identify the double byte characters thus resulting in an error during the project asset creation time.


Cause

A product defect has been identified.

WORKAROUND:

Create, install, and use Rational Functional Tester without double byte characters in the Windows user account name.
