Abstract

ITM v6.3 FP2 Browser TEP Client may Prompt for Security Warning Dialog During Browser Client Signing ON and OFF

Content

Problem (Abstract):

On a new (Pristine) installation of Java Runtime Environment (IBM Java 7 SR5) of ITM v6.3 FP2, the following security warning will get displayed while logging in or logging out of the TEP Browser Client.

Resolving the Issue (Workaround):
The TEP browser client will continue to prompt a security warning dialog everytime a logon or logout of the TEP is attempted . By selecting the
"Don't Block" button, you can proceed to access the TEP Browser Client. To completely eliminate the warning message, modify the 'Mixed code security
verification' setting found under the Advanced tab of the Java Control Panel to "Enable - hide warning and run with protections".

On Windows :

  1. Open the Control Panel - Click on Start -> Settings -> Control Panel
  2. Select 'View 32-bit Control Panel Items'
  3. Select 'IBM Control Panel for Java v7 (TM)' to launch the Java Control Panel
  4. Select the Advanced Tab on Java Control Panel.
  5. Scroll down and locate the 'Mixed code (sandboxed vs trusted) security verification' setting.
  6. Select the option 'Enable - hide warning and run with protections'
  7. Click Apply and then OK to close the Java Control Panel.

On Linux:
  1. Open terminal and cd to the <Java Installation dir>/bin
  2. Open the Java Control Panel. Type ./ControlPanel
  3. Select the Advanced Tab on Java Control Panel.
  4. Scroll down and locate the 'Mixed code (sandboxed vs trusted) security verification' setting.
  5. Select the option 'Enable - hide warning and run with protections'
  6. Click Apply and then OK to close the Java Control Panel.
