When running an Index Update Task 'CSN-IUS-0051 Operation GetReportSpec failed' and 'CSN-IUS-0009 Failed to retrieve runnable object' error messages appear in the task history for some analysis and report view objects. The task succeeds. Users are able to search and find folders, reports, views, and analysis objects for which error messages do not appear in the task history.
Analysis objects do not reference any packages.
Report views do not reference any reports.
The references were removed when the referenced objects were deleted.
Resolving the problem
The messages can be ignored.
To repair a report view, navigate to it in Cognos Connection, open Properties page, click on 'Link to a report ...', choose a report, and save the changes.
To repair analysis, navigate to it in Cognos Connection, open Properties page, click on 'Link to a package ...', choose a package, and save the changes.
