MDM OSGi extension deployment performance improvements

Troubleshooting


Problem

Slow performance in adding/removing OSGi extensions to and from the InfoSphere MDM Hub Server, InfoSphere MDM Custom Domain Hub, and InfoSphere MDM Reference Data Management Hub.

Symptom

When using InfoSphere MDM Workbench for publishing extensions to the server, the deployment operation can take a fair amount of time. The same behavior can be observed when deploying OSGi extensions via WebSphere administration console or using scripting.

Resolving The Problem

For WebSphere Application Server version 8.5.0.2:


To resolve this issue, install WebSphere interim fix 8.5.0.2-WS-WASProd-IFPM89239 and 8.5.0.2-WS-WASProd-IFPI10107:


For Websphere Application Server version 8.5.5.1:



Once the WebSphere Application Server interim fixes are installed, you must configure 2 new JVM properties for the application server(s).

    In WebSphere Application Server Administrative Console, click Application servers --> <server name> --> Process definition --> Java Virtual Machine --> Custom properties

    Create the following 2 properties:

    1.
    Name: com.ibm.ws.eba.bla.concurrency
    Value: 2

    2.
    Name: com.ibm.ws.eba.bla.proxies.archiveCacheSize
    Value: 500

Restart the server(s) for changes to take effect.
