User receives email in MIME format and when attempting to view it, either the full message or in the preview pane, the status bar displays the message "An error occurred while formatting. Press ESC to close window." and the display of the message is extremely limited and/or corrupt.

Resolving the problem
Enable the use of the system's embedded browser (this is the default). This will use the systems web browser to display HTML content of MIME format emails, bypassing the limitations of Notes' parsing and rendering.
