Redirect URL on Logoff does not work from Cognos Connection

Technote (troubleshooting)

Problem(Abstract)

You can redirect to an URL on logout from Cognos Connection of IBM Cognos BI by modifying the system.xml.
But when using URL like this format:
https://www.google.fr/search?q=https://www.facebook.com/

The redirect does not work during logoff.

Cause

The second URL passed in argument is not encoded

Resolving the problem

You need to encode the second URL of this https://www.google.fr/search?q=https://www.facebook.com/ so that you will have :

https://www.google.fr/search?q=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.facebook.com%2F

After that, modify the c10_location\templates\ps\system.xml file :

<!-- Custom login/logoff configurations -->
<param name="custom-auth">
<logoff enabled="true">
<!-- URL to direct to upon logoff. Note: the 'redirect-url' url specified is subject to validation at runtime -->
<redirect-url>https://www.google.fr/search?q=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.facebook.com%2F</redirect-url>
</logoff>
<logon enabled="false">
<!--
At runtime, template name is constructed as base-template-name_<productLocale>.
If base-template-name_<productLocale> does not exist, base-template-name is used.
Note 1: Template filename extension is expected to be .xhtml
Note 2: Template is relative to ../webcontent/ps/login
-->
<base-template-name></base-template-name> <!-- e.g.: my_customtemplate_1 -->
</logon>
</param>

You'll need to restart the Cognos services.
