Disconnecting or reconnecting a host connection in IBM Developer for z/OS Remote Systems view does not update status in Host Connections view

Question & Answer

Question

Disconnecting or reconnecting a host connection in the IBM Developer for z/OS Remote Systems view does not update the status of the connection displayed in the Host Connections view.

Cause

This is a limitation.

Connecting a host connection in the IBM Developer for z/OS Remote Systems view properly displays the connection in the Host Connections view.
Subsequent disconnecting or reconnecting of the connection in the Remote Systems view does not update the status of the connection displayed the Host Connections view.

Note: The Host Connections view only supports one connection per category at a time.
Creating a new connection to a Host in the same category as an existing connection will force the existing connection to disconnect.

Answer

To ensure that the status is correct in the Host Connections view, use the Connect and Disconnect buttons in the Host Connections view to disconnect and reconnect the Host Connection.
