Enablement test on Chrome browser associated with Java 1.7 when enabled through Chrome Web Store shows failure

Technote (troubleshooting)

Problem(Abstract)

When the Chrome browser is associated with Java 1.7 Update 13 and above and enabled through the Chrome Web Store, performing the enablement test through Rational Functional Tester shows Failure the first time.

Cause

This is an issue due to default Java's security settings with 1.7 u13 and above where the security is set to High by default. As a result the Java is not loaded in the browser when enablement test is happening and enablement shows Failure accurately. In the meanwhile a Java security notification or dialog is popped up to prompt the user to run Java on this site.

Resolving the problem

By selecting the option "Always run Java on this site" on the Java security notification/dialog that comes up, the next time Enablement Test is performed on the Chrome browser, the Enablement test shows as pass.
