Forcefully update poll policies directly in NCIM

Technote (FAQ)

Question

How can I forcefully update poll policies to be picked up by Poller ?

Answer

After manually updating a poll policy or scope, you can force the poller to pick up the change by updating the lastupdate field (this is what the GUI implicitly does when you hit ''Save'').

For example,

Login to NCIM database:

bash-3.00# dbaccess itnm --

select * from ncmonitor.policy;

policyid 2
domainmgrid 2
policyname Default Interface Ping
scopeid 2
pollstatus 1
monitorunmanaged 0
lastupdate 2013-02-12 10:16:44
monitorstatus 0
monitorlastupdate 2013-04-02 10:53:30
pollerid
realtime false
snmpcommunity
maxtargets

Make a note of the policyname and execute the following query to forcefully update the poll policies changed.

update policy set lastupdate = CURRENT_TIMESTAMP where policyName = 'Policy-name-changed';
