How can ClearQuest display the terms "Public Queries", "Personal Queries,"and error messages in French?
IBM Rational ClearQuest only provides full translation for English, Japanese, and Simplified Chinese. The ClearQuest Web Client and the ClearQuest Client (Eclipse-based) also provide additional language translations for menu items and error messages that are generated by those GUI clients. However, error messages that originate in the ClearQuest business logic, also known as ClearQuest core error messages, are not translated into these additional languages. See National Language Support.
The terms "Public Queries" and "Personal Queries" used in the ClearQuest workspace also originate from the ClearQuest business logic, and are only translated into English, Japanese, and Simplified Chinese.
Beginning with version 126.96.36.199, IBM Rational ClearQuest provides additional translation support for ClearQuest error messages that originate in the ClearQuest business logic, and for the terms "Public Queries" and "Personal Queries" in the ClearQuest navigation folder workspace.
These translations are available if the ClearQuest business logic runs on a host machine with a French locale:
- For the ClearQuest Web Client, translations are only available if the ClearQuest Web Server runs on a host with a French locale. In addition, if the web browser language preference is configured for French, then a French translation experience* is provided. If the web browser language preference is not configured for French or the ClearQuest Web Server is not running on a French locale, then a mixed translation experience is provided.
- For the ClearQuest Client (Eclipse-based), translations are only available if the ClearQuest Client runs on a user machine with a French locale. The ClearQuest Client then provides a French translation experience.*
- For the ClearQuest for Windows client a mixed translation experience is provided when running on a user machine with a French locale. In this case, ClearQuest for Windows client menu selection items are not translated into French, but ClearQuest business logic error messages are available in French.
*Note: "French translation experience" means that ClearQuest provided menu selection items and error messages are translated into French. Schema provided forms are not translated and are shown in the language that your schema developer chose when creating the ClearQuest schema application. ClearQuest schema packages do not support French translation. If your schema is using a ClearQuest package, those features are not available in French. ClearQuest action names are not translated by ClearQuest; Action names are under the control of your ClearQuest schema developer and ClearQuest packages.
