Sametime Video Manager server components must be started and stopped in correct sequence

Technote (troubleshooting)

Problem

Sametime Video Manager server components must be started and stopped in the correct sequence.

Symptom

One symptom of the servers being started in the wrong order is the following error:

"An Error occurred while retrieving the Video MCU pool orders/Video MCU pool order"

Resolving the problem

For Sametime Video Manager, the sequence for starting and stopping server components is very important.

Attention: Each of the commands in the steps that follow must be entered on one line (even if they display on multiple lines in this technote).

Starting the Video Manager

1. Start solidDB first by running the following command:

    opt/solidDB/soliddb-7.0/standalone_eval_server_start
2. Then start the Sametime Video Manager by running the following command:

    WAS_install_root/profiles/ Profile_name/bin>./StartServer.sh STMediaServer

Stopping the Video Manager

1. Stop the Sametime Video Manager by running the following command:
    WAS_install_root/profiles/ Profile_name/bin>./StopServer.sh STMediaServer

2. Then stop solidDB by running this command:

opt/solidDB/soliddb-7.0/standalone_eval_server_stop

For more information on stopping solidDB, see "Stopping the database with solidDB SQL Editor" in the product documentation.
