IBM Workload Deployer Continuous back up function fails to back up images

Abstract

Due to a problem with continuous back up, newly imported or captured images are not backed up. If a restore is done with the images missing, data will be lost.

Performing a full system back up prior to restore prevents loss of data.

APAR IC95189 will address the failure in continuous back up that results in failure to back up all images. A restore operation while in this state will result in loss of data.

A full system back up should be performed following any virtual image import or update until an available fix pack containing APAR IC95189 can be installed.

Due to the failure of back up for newly captured or imported images, a restore should not be attempted until a full system back up is completed.

The APAR is now available in IBM Workload Deployer v3.1.0.7 iFix 1.
