Caution when using native svn commands for Impact repository.

Troubleshooting

Problem

If you have need to run the svn command to manipulate an Impact Subversion repository, be sure to use the Impact version of the command: $NCHOME/platform//svn/bin/svn Some operating system installations may have their own installation of Subversion and it is likely to be a different release to that within Impact and this can cause corruptions.

Symptom

If you manipulate the repository using the wrong version of svn, you may see the message:

This client is too old to work with working copy ... You need to get a newer Subversion client, or to downgrade this working copy.

Resolving The Problem

Avoid using the wrong svn command - which may be on the $PATH. The correct svn command can be used to recreate the working copy (etc and/or policy directory) using the 'checkout' function.
