This document contains a list of new capabilities in the SmartCloud Control Desk 7.5.1.1 fix pack, as well as download instructions and links to product documentation, system requirements, fix pack download instructions, and release notes.

What's New in SmartCloud Control Desk 7.5.1.1

New and updated integration adapters for:
  • Tivoli® Asset Discovery for z/OS® 8.1 - A new adapter is added for this product.
  • IBM® Endpoint Manager 9.0
  • IBM Endpoint Manager for Software Use Analysis 2.1
  • Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager 2007/2012 – SmartCloud Control Desk 7.5.1.1 renames the data schema for this adapter to include the 2012 version. If you do not install the fix pack, the name does not include 2012. Installing Integration Composer Fix Pack 7.5.1.1 updates the mapping file to include version 2012.
  • IBM Tivoli Application Dependency Discovery Manager – SmartCloud Control Desk 7.5.1.1 renames the data schema for this adapter to include version 7.2.2. If you do not install the fix pack, the name does not include version 7.2.2. Installing Integration Composer Fix Pack 7.5.1.1 updates the mapping file to include version 7.2.2.

A Manage OMPs user interface
The Logical Management Operations application contains an interface to specify operational management products in your IT environment. For more information, see Configuring operational management products.

Changes that are provided by IBM Maximo® for Service Providers 7.5.1.2
SmartCloud Control Desk 7.5.1.1 incorporates the IBM Maximo for Service Providers 7.5.1.2 fix pack. The fix pack provides the following changes, which are enabled in the user interface by default.
  • Ability to specify whether billed asset usage is included in the current or prior bill that is based on the financial period for which usage was entered.
  • After a bill batch is created, it is updated only if the reviewer explicitly chooses to update the bill batch with the Copy Work Orders option. In previous versions, the updates are made automatically, resulting in the billing totals and detail to change without any warning to the reviewer.
  • New check box to select Use Premium Pay Calculation for craft pricing.

The following set of capabilities are included with this fix pack and are disabled by default. They can be enabled by the SmartCloud Control Desk administrator:


A My Resources navigator
The ability for the Self Service Center users to see all resources that they own, and submit service requests for those resources. This navigator is disabled in the user interface by default. For more information, see My Resources.


Maximo Asset Management Scheduler 7.5.2 enhancements
The default behavior of Scheduler with SmartCloud Control Desk 7.5.1.1 will be preservation of the Scheduler 7.5.1 behavior. Scheduler 7.5.2 functionality is exposed only with inclusion of a new license key, which is a separate purchase. The enhancements in Scheduler 7.5.2 can be found in the What's New topic of the IBM Maximo Asset Management information center.

Mobile Device Management in Self Service Center
Within the Self Service Center you can submit requests to initiate tasks on mobile devices such as Lock Device, Wipe Device, and Clear Passcode. IBM Endpoint Manager for Mobile Devices fulfills the requests, and is therefore required for these capabilities.

The Mobile Application Catalog provides a Register a Mobile Device offering and an IBM Notes Traveler: Volume Purchase Program License Distribution offering. You can customize the IBM Notes Traveler offering to create your own mobile application offerings for which you want to distribute licenses obtained from the volume purchase program. IBM Endpoint Manager for Mobile Devices is not required for these capabilities.

1. Ability in the CI, Asset, and ticket applications to view real-time CI and asset details from other IT products
You can view "UI previews" of CI and asset details that are provided by your IT products such as IBM Tivoli Application Dependency Discovery Manager and IBM Tivoli Monitoring. By default, this feature is not enabled in the SmartCloud Control Desk user interface.

2. Ability in the CI and ticket applications to view real-time Event details on CIs from IBM Tivoli Netcool/OMNIbus
If you use Tivoli Netcool/OMNIbus, you can view Event details on CIs, which can aid in faster problem determination and incident ticket routing. By default, this capability is not enabled in the SmartCloud Control Desk user interface.

3. Ability to integrate SmartCloud Control Desk change and configuration tracking directly into the automation of software deployments and operations
SmartCloud Control Desk provides ticket data to applications as OSLC consumers. Administrators can use this capability, for example, to aid in detecting, isolating, and diagnosing problems.

4. Ability within the Self Service Center to submit requests to deploy software in the cloud
You can submit request to deploy software an IBM WebSphere® Application Server Single Server virtual system and virtual machines. In the Self Service Center, you can also start, stop, delete, and submit service requests for virtual machines and virtual systems that you own. This feature is available as a content pack.

Note: The supported application server for this integration is IBM WebSphere Application Server.
