Transformer cube build fails: Memory fault (coredump)

Technote (troubleshooting)

Problem(Abstract)

When trying to build a cube using the command similar to this...

./cogtr -c -p mod.pyj

the cube build fails with an error. The last entry in the Transformer cube build log is

Processing the work file.

The side-effect is that the .lck file created to prevent other users accessing the .pyj file is left on the file system.

Symptom

Memory fault (coredump)

Cause

Very large .pyj model file of the order of 1GByte

Environment

Unix

Resolving the problem

Recompile the .pyj file by saving to a .mdl file and then open the.mdl file in Transformer and save the model to a new .pyj file. This should significantly reduce the size of the .pyj model file.
