FastBack Disaster Recovery does not work due to not correct purged job

Troubleshooting


Problem

If a FastBack Disaster Recovery (DR) job has been clean up in a FastBack (FB) Server by some error condition, the DR does not correctly purge it from the DR HUB server.

Symptom

From FastBack DR Phase #2 log named like FAST_BACK_DR_PH2_xxx.SF:

Cause

This error may be caused by the DNS service being temporarily unavailable.
Therefore specify the IP address of the FTP server instead of the hostname in the FB Server and DR Configuration Table.

In some error conditions, a job that has been removed by cleanup on the FastBack Server side might be corrupted and retained on the DR Hub Server side.
That causes the "HandleHistoryRecord failed " to be reported.

Resolving The Problem

Rename or move the DR Hub Job files from the DR HUB server. In aboves example the Job number is JOB1234.
If the new DR runs with success, the renamed or moved DR Hub Job files from Job number JOB1234 can be finally removed (deleted).
