Debug Tool criteria of dead profile

Technote (FAQ)

Question

What's the criteria of Debug Tool dead profile ?

Cause

We have set EQAXOPT DTCNDELETEDEADPROF,YES of EQSOPTS to turn on the
auto deletion of "dead" profile. However, our application reflected that some of the inactive profile
are not deleted(which they think it is dead profile). As a result, we would like to know the criteria that
the profile will be treated as "dead"?

Answer

A profile is considered to be "dead" when its owner can not be found.

If the repository is TS, then the owner is the terminal which stored
the profile.
If the repository is TS and there is no terminal (i.e. the user is
using the remote DTCN plugin) then the owner is the userid of the
remote plugin.
If the repository is VSAM, then the owner is the userid which stored
the profile.
The scan is done whenever DTCN is used.... and whenever EQADCDEL is run.
