Problem
The user is unable to start a probe under Process Control
Symptom
pa.log:
Error: Failed to set the UID of the command $OMNIHOME/probes/mttrapd to 0.
probe.log:
SNMP Message (priority=3): UDP snmp_open: Unknown host (udp:162) (Permission denied)
Failed to open UDP session
Unable to get hold of session link pointer
Cause
The user isn't set up correctly in the /etc/shadow file
Resolving The Problem
Have the system administrator check the /etc/shadow file to ensure the user is set up properly and restart PA.
