Oncheck returns "Non vanilla index. data crosschecking not enabled"

Technote (FAQ)

Question

You are running 'oncheck -cI' command and for certain indexes oncheck returns "Non vanilla index. data crosschecking not enabled". Why does it happen?

Answer

It happens because oncheck cannot validate functional indexes or indexes built on columns with opaque data types, including LVARCHAR. It is a known limitation of the oncheck utility.
