Cognos Portlets in IBM WebSphere Portal with SSO throw CPS-CCM-1204 and AAA-AUT-0022

Problem

The Cognos portlets have been integrated into IBM WebSphere Portal. Signle-sign on (SSO) has been enabled with the shared secret method. When users connect to a portlet, they are thrown: CPS-CCM-1204 The method "initCookie" of the Markup interface failed. AAA-AUT-0022 Number of authentication redirection requests exceeded the maximum limit. A more detailed description of the error that occurred can be found in the log.

Cause

In Cognos Configuration, the trusted signon namespace ID for the portal service doesn't match the authentication source namespace. These namespace IDs need to be identical to use the shared secret method to pass user credentials.

Environment

Change the trusted signon namespace ID for the portal service in Cognos Configuration to match the namespace ID for the authentication source.
