User or group names containing commas or bar characters cause policy configuration to fail

Technote (troubleshooting)

Problem(Abstract)

A policy containing identity objects with users or groups containing a comma or bar character fails the configuration process. This happens if an administrator performs the following steps:

1. Define a user or group that contains a comma or bar character
2. Add the user or group to an identity object
3. Apply the object to a policy

This results in the policy failing the configuration phase.

Resolving the problem

This is a known defect with no current resolution.

To avoid configuration failure, do not use commas or bar characters in user or group names.
