Improve Performance of Worklight Push Notifications

Technote (troubleshooting)

Problem(Abstract)

IBM Worklight customers using version 5.0.5 or 5.0.6 may notice slow performance when using the push notifications feature.

Resolving the problem

To improve push notification performance, add an index to the NOTIFICATION_DEVICE table in your database. Accomplish this by running the following command, specific to the database being used.

  • DB2:
    CREATE INDEX I_NTFCDVC_DEVICE ON NOTIFICATION_DEVICE (DEVICE);
  • Oracle:
    CREATE INDEX I_NTFCDVC_DEVICE ON NOTIFICATION_DEVICE (DEVICE);
  • MySQL:
    alter table NOTIFICATION_DEVICE add index I_NTFCDVC_DEVICE (DEVICE);
  • Derby:
    create index I_NTFCDVC_DEVICE on WORKLIGHT.NOTIFICATION_DEVICE (DEVICE);
